Wisconsin Workers’ Compensation Calculator 2026
Estimate TTD or TPD using Wisconsin’s injury-year maximum and official proportional wage-loss method.
Estimate Wisconsin weekly disability benefits
Wisconsin TTD and TPD use related formulas
TTD generally equals two-thirds of the accepted AWW, limited by the maximum for the injury year. The 2026 maximum is $1,375, based on a maximum wage of $2,062.50.
TPD uses a proportional formula: divide the actual wage loss by the pre-injury AWW, then apply that percentage to the capped TTD rate. This matters when AWW is high enough for the TTD maximum to apply.
AWW needs claim-specific wage analysis
For many full-time employees, DWD compares scheduled hourly wages with taxable gross earnings divided by weeks worked during the prior 52-week period and uses the higher supported amount. Shift differentials, bonuses, overtime, tips, meals, lodging, short employment, part-time classification, self-restriction, and exceptional schedules can change the accepted wage.
This tool begins with an AWW supplied by the user. It does not expand part-time wages or combine multiple jobs.
Limitations
Medical restrictions must support temporary disability. The estimate does not determine coverage, notice, compensability, waiting days, return-to-work suitability, wage expansion, escalation after renewed disability, Social Security interaction, healing period, PPD, PTD, vocational rehabilitation, death benefits, or a DWD decision.
Why is TPD not simply two-thirds of wage loss?
Wisconsin applies the wage-loss proportion to the TTD rate. When TTD is capped, that can produce a different amount.
Does the tool calculate PPD?
No. PPD requires a medical percentage or scheduled loss and uses a separate weekly maximum of $446 for 2026 injuries.
Does the three-day waiting period change the weekly rate?
No. It affects payable days, not the underlying weekly rate. The first three days become payable if disability extends beyond seven calendar days.
