Indiana uses a statutory wage range

Indiana TTD generally equals 66⅔% of average weekly wage. For injuries on or after July 1, 2026, the statutory wage basis cannot exceed $1,316, while the Board table publishes a $878 weekly ceiling. Exact two-thirds arithmetic at the statutory wage ceiling is $877.33 before any claim-specific treatment. The statute also treats AWW as no less than $75 when computing temporary disability, but the weekly benefit cannot exceed the worker’s actual AWW.

TPD generally equals 66⅔% of the difference between the statutory pre-injury wage basis and actual reduced weekly earnings. It is payable for no more than 300 weeks, including a preceding TTD period when partial disability follows total disability.

AWW, waiting days, and payment timing

The Board describes AWW as generally based on the 52 weeks before injury. Claim-specific exclusions, short employment, concurrent work, irregular earnings, gratuities, and agreements can change the accepted wage. Enter the accepted AWW or compare supported scenarios.

Weekly income benefits generally require more than seven days away from work. The first seven days are not paid unless disability lasts 21 days. The Board says the first weekly installment should be mailed 15 days after injury, subject to claim acceptance and statutory procedure.

Limitations

This estimate does not determine coverage, notice, compensability, accepted AWW, employer-authorized care, restrictions, benefit commencement, offsets, unemployment interaction, MMI, PPI, total compensation, settlement value, or a Board award.

Why can a 2026 injury use $852 or $878?

Indiana’s fourth scheduled 3% increase took effect July 1, 2026, so the exact injury date controls.

Can a low-wage result be below $50?

Yes. Although the statutory wage basis has a $75 floor, weekly compensation cannot exceed actual AWW.

Does the calculator estimate permanent impairment?

No. PPI uses medical impairment degrees and tiered dollar values, not only weekly wages.
