Estimate Louisiana TTD or SEB

Louisiana fixes the minimum and maximum by injury date each September 1.
Benefit situation
Use the AWW established for the claim. Wage calculation depends on the statutory employment method.

TTD and SEB use different rules

Louisiana temporary total disability generally equals 66 2/3% of the accepted average weekly wage. The result is subject to the minimum and maximum for the accident date. When the worker’s weekly wage itself is below the TTD minimum, the statute uses the actual wage instead of increasing the payment above that wage.

TTD66 2/3% × AWW, subject to the injury-date limits and low-wage ruleSEB66 2/3% × monthly loss of earning capacity, when capacity is below 90%

Supplemental earnings benefits are not ordinary TPD. They compare pre-injury average monthly wages with the amount earned or able to be earned after injury. SEB normally has no statutory minimum and is generally paid monthly, with a ceiling equal to 4.3 times the applicable weekly TTD maximum.

The September 1 limit is selected automatically

For accidents from September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026, the weekly maximum is $877 and the TTD minimum is $234. For accidents from September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027, those figures are $903 and $241.

The injury date locks the applicable rate period. A later increase does not automatically change an older claim. The calculator also supports the two preceding published periods so users can check recent 2023–2025 accidents.

What the estimate cannot determine

A real award depends on the legally established AWW, medical proof, work status, earning capacity, valid job availability, offsets, waiting days and claim acceptance. For SEB, actual wages are a floor for earning capacity, but an employer may establish a higher amount that the worker is able to earn.

Does SEB apply whenever pay decreases?

No. The worker must satisfy the legal requirements, including an injury-related inability to earn at least 90% of the pre-injury wage.

Why is SEB shown monthly?

Louisiana compares monthly wages and generally pays SEB monthly. The calculator converts weekly entries using 4.3, the multiplier used in the statutory monthly ceiling.

Does SEB have the $241 minimum?

No. R.S. 23:1202 states that there is no minimum compensation for SEB.
