Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Calculator 2026
Estimate weekly total disability from Pennsylvania’s four official wage bands, or partial disability from the difference between pre-injury and post-injury weekly earnings.
Estimate Pennsylvania weekly compensation
Pennsylvania total disability is not always two-thirds
The 2026 schedule uses four AWW bands. A worker at or above $2,091 AWW is capped at $1,394. From $1,045.51 through $2,090.99, the rate is 66 2/3% of AWW. From $774.44 through $1,045.50, the scheduled rate is $697. At $774.43 or less, the rate is 90% of AWW.
| 2026 AWW | Total-disability calculation |
|---|---|
| $2,091.00 or more | $1,394 maximum |
| $1,045.51–$2,090.99 | 66 2/3% of AWW |
| $774.44–$1,045.50 | $697 fixed rate |
| $774.43 or less | 90% of AWW |
The injury year controls the schedule. A later annual maximum does not automatically replace the rate associated with the injury date.
Partial disability calculation
Pennsylvania’s official guidance describes partial disability as two-thirds of the difference between pre-injury AWW and average weekly earnings after the return to work. The weekly payment cannot exceed the applicable maximum, and compensation plus wages cannot exceed the pre-injury wage.
Partial disability status can last up to 500 weeks. The calculator estimates an amount only and does not count those weeks or decide whether suitable work, earning power, impairment status, suspension, or modification has been established.
Recent Pennsylvania schedules
| Injury year | Maximum | Two-thirds band starts | Fixed band | 90% band ends |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | $1,394 | $1,045.51 AWW | $697 | $774.43 AWW |
| 2025 | $1,347 | $1,010.26 AWW | $673.50 | $748.32 AWW |
| 2024 | $1,325 | $993.76 AWW | $662.50 | $736.10 AWW |
What belongs in AWW?
AWW is a legal wage determination, not necessarily the latest paycheck. Pennsylvania guidance identifies pre-injury wages and states that wages can include employer-provided room and board, bonuses or incentive pay, vacation pay, and gratuities reported for income-tax purposes. The applicable wage statement and averaging method should be reviewed before relying on this calculator.
Offsets may apply for employment or self-employment wages, unemployment compensation, part of Social Security old-age benefits, severance, or employer-funded pension benefits in qualifying cases. These are excluded from the estimate.
Examples for 2026 injuries
$1,200 AWW
The estimate is $800 per week.
$900 AWW
The official schedule produces $697 per week, not $600.
$600 AWW
Ninety percent produces $540 per week.
$2,400 AWW
The result is capped at $1,394 per week.
$1,200 AWW, now $600
Two-thirds of the $600 wage loss is $400 per week.
Waiting period and limitations
Wage-loss benefits generally require disability lasting more than seven calendar days. The employer or insurer generally must begin compensation or issue a denial within 21 days after notice or knowledge of injury. This calculator does not decide payable days, retroactivity, acceptance, medical disability, or when a payment is due.
Is this a settlement calculator?
No. It models weekly total or partial wage-loss compensation only.
Why is $900 AWW not multiplied by two-thirds?
Because the official 2026 schedule places that wage inside the $697 fixed-rate band.
Does the 90% rule apply to partial disability?
The official partial-disability guidance uses two-thirds of the wage difference. The calculator therefore keeps the total and partial routes separate.
