Timing and medical reference
Waiting period
Benefits begin on day eight; disability lasting 14 days triggers payment back to day one.
Medical care
Select from the employer’s three-doctor panel and document the choice on Form C-42.
Filing
In most cases, file the PBD within one year under the Bureau’s stated injury/last-benefit rules.
Burial
The current compensation table lists a $10,000 burial benefit.
2026 medical mileage
Authorized medical travel exceeding 15 miles one way may qualify. The official rate is 72.5¢ per mile for January 1–June 30, 2026 and 76¢ per mile for July 1–December 31, 2026. Use the travel date, preserve trip records, and confirm eligibility.
